Sports Medicine
Acupuncture's benefits for sports medicine are two fold. First, acupuncture can improve recovery time from injuries and exercise fatigue by reducing inflammation and swelling as well as increasing blood flow to the affected area to facilitate recovery. Second, acupuncture and electro-acupuncture, by stimulating the muscles, may increase muscle efficiency and performance. By targeting muscles that are over-worked or that are weak, we can work to harmonize muscle groups that are out of balance and get them working together again.
