Thank you for your interest in our clinic. Here are some things to consider for your first appointment:

Attire:
The major areas where needles are used are on the limbs, the back, and the abdomen and chest. It is helpful to wear loose-fitting and comfortable clothes, as well as layers that may be removed to uncover more of the body. Gowns and other substitute clothing are available at the clinic if needed.

Visit Length:
We want to make sure that you are heard, so there is a longer and more in-depth discussion of your concerns and goals during the first treatment. Because of this, the length of visit may take longer than the typical one hour treatment.

What to expect in a treatment:
After discussing your concerns, we determine what the best treatment strategy is and what modalities will be used. Technique will be applied to either body work or the needles or both. While this is being done we check in with you about what you are experiencing and adjust treatment accordingly. When applying acupuncture needles they are left in the body for 10-20 minutes after technique is done. After the appropriate modalities are used we finish up and cover any remaining questions and discuss any work that can be done by the patient at home to help. If we feel that Herbs are important to the treatment they will be discussed at this point.
